                                      "Joey"

Joey sitting.jfif

Joey was my first champion who introduced me to so many wonderful experiences and people in the sport of dogs.

Joey loved his birds and it was Joey who introduced me to Hunt tests and the WC/WCX tests.  He didn't necessarily score high on style points but he had a nose.  He came out of retirement with very little practice to earn his WCX at 7 1/2 years.

Most of all, Joey had the most wonderful Golden personality and temperament which has been passed to his kids grandkids and great grandkids!

                   "Kelly"

Kelly was my first home-bred champion.  What a thrill!  Sweet Kelly was first and foremost an ambassador of the breed.  She has a wonderful golden temperament and personality.
Kelly was also the best tennis ball catcher.  She could definitely catch them on the fly and would have made a great short-stop.

Kelly. was also mother to my second home-bred champion, Patrick.  One of our last memories of Kelly was her win in the 10-12 year Veteran Class at the 2001 National Specialty.  Look at her move.   Sadly we lost Kelly at 11 years of age but her beautiful golden spirit lives on in her wonderful grand-kids and great grand-kids.

Am/Can Ch Woodland's Fighting Irish AX AXJ "Patrick" finished his championship at 21 months.  He won 7 consecutive shows in tough Southern California competition.  At 2 years of age, he started agility training and within two months was competing.  Patrick earned his Novice title in three consecutive shows and then proceeded on to earn an open leg as a move up.  He was a quick learner whose greatest handicap was "me."

He will be missed, but to his kids and grandkids, his beautiful golden spirit and energy live on.

Patrick was my third champion and second homebred champion.

Brice was truly a special girl and her absence has left a large void.  She always had a smile with dipples, too.  Her wonderful golden temperament has found its way to her children and their offspring.

Brice was mother to Ch. Woodland 'n Broxden Two Thumbs Up "Jay" and Am/Can Ch Woodland's Woofin on The Ritz "Fred" and Woodland Sunjoie Uptown Girl, CD NA NAJ OD "Dixie."

He loved agility but also loved the judge and ring stewards....sigh.

Fred was one of the silliest dogs at Woodland with the biggest heart.  He did love his girls and definitely enjoyed all the club's Veteran Parties.  He enjoyed life and the house is now a bit lonely without the love bug "Fred."

Taffy came to me from Lisa Smith (Goodtime Golden Retrievers) and she was mother to two Outstanding Dams:  Ch Woodland Kerry Oakie OD and Ch Woodland Take A Chance On Me OD).  She lived to 10 1/2 yrs.  She definitely was a gal who came in a small package but brought so much joy and love to me and all whom she met.  Taffy Waffles....you were the best and you will be missed.

It's so hard to lose any dog, but Cutter was one of those very special ones who leaves such a void in my life.  He was such a kind sole.  He had become a wonderful therapy dog sitting with the second graders who dutifully read books to him.  It was a wonderful experience for both Cutter and myself.  Cutter was devoted to me and he worked so hard to get those last legs in agility to attain his OJP.  He loved going out to the field with me.  He loved his ducks.  I miss you Cutter Butter.

Eddie was a dream dog come true.  He created so many wonderful memories including winning the 6-9 puppy class at the 2011 GRCA National Specialty.  He came back the following year and was third in the open class.  He was less than two when he completed his championship.  He also picked up his companion dog in obedience.  The 2018 GRCA National Specialty, he picked up a Judges Award of Merit.  But above all this, Eddie enjoyed his time as a therapy dog at my Kaiser Hospital visiting with patients and staff.  2020 was a horrible year for Woodland as we lost dear Eddie but the wonderful memories remain.  Love you Eddie Spaghetti!
